Director of operations

Tacoma, WA · Full-time preferred

Anchor Church is looking for a Director of Operations to build and maintain the systems that let ministry thrive across our church. This is a role for someone who sees operational leadership as a form of pastoral ministry: a systems thinker who is organized and process-driven with a pastoral heart.

What You'll Own


Facilities: Maintenance, vendor management, hospitality, safety and security systems, child protection compliance, and improvement projects from planning through completion.


Finance & Administration: The annual budgeting process, accounts payable, giving platforms, key organizational health metrics, vendor contracts, and audit prep.


Staff & HR: Onboarding and offboarding, benefits and payroll coordination, org charts and job descriptions, and a staff culture where people feel administratively supported.


Technology & Systems: Planning Center, IT infrastructure, and the tools that reduce friction and grow ministry capacity.


What We're Looking For


A vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and deep alignment with Anchor's mission, values, and culture.


Proven experience in operations or organizational management: church, nonprofit, or a comparable environment.


Strong financial acumen, with comfort owning budgets and making stewardship decisions.


A people-first, excellent communicator who is self-directed and adaptable.


Compensation & Benefits


$65,000–$75,000, commensurate with experience and scope

This role reports to the Lead Pastor.
